Our client is one of the UK's Leading Environmental Companies. They specialise in ensuring environmental compliance for construction and development projects using sound, best practice environmental management techniques. Due to securing a number of new Schemes, they are now seeking a Senior or Principal Ecologist to join their Cheshire team.
As a Principal Ecologist you will need to have excellent report writing skills with proven experience of writing ecology chapters. Stakeholder management will involve liaising with local authorities as well as other consultants, designers and planners. Knowledge of all stages of development from feasibility to application and mitigation is required.
Essential Requirements
-Terrestrial ecology consultancy experience;
-Experience of contributing to EIAs for major infrastructure schemes
-Detailed knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, planning policy and Environmental Impact Assessment;
-Excellent report writing skills;
-Acting as a specialist in one or more areas of terrestrial ecology which may include protected species;
-Comfortable working within a team, or alone
-Good communication skills
-Ability to manage own time, and to mentor and motivate others
- Experience of undertaking Phase 1 habitat surveys and protected species surveys;
-Experience of ecological assessment in accordance with the CIEEM guidelines for terrestrial impact assessment in the UK
