We are looking for a keen journalist to join our team as a Digital Sports Writer, who will source, create, produce and promote digital football and rugby league content to our loyal readership and attract new, large audiences.
The successful candidate will be able to understand what fans want to read and watch, producing content which puts supporters first.

Key Responsibilities
You will...
- Produce content around sport and in particular Hull City which will appeal to and engage our audiences
- Use social media to engage with and build our audiences
- Be able to produce outstanding multi-platform digital content across our different production platforms
- Help to plan for & produce content ahead of major events
- Use analytics and data intelligence to guide your own content production
- Cover major stories and breaking sport news in a fast-paced digital environment
- Maximise opportunities for audience engagement and interaction through emerging social media platforms and applications
- Source third-party content, including blogs, video, audio and pictures, where appropriate to add value to content.
- Be flexible to work on content away from football, assisting with producing content on rugby league
- Ensure all work at all times conforms to Reach PLC policies and procedures
The Ideal Candidate
You will demonstrate an excellent understanding of how to find and write for a passionate and knowledgeable football audience to drive traffic with creative ideas on how to respond to trending topics and an ability to write fast, accurate and engaging copy to tight deadlines. Experience writing for a digital audience would be preferable, along with an up-to-date knowledge of media law, search engine optimisation and tools such as Buzzsumo and Google Trends. Demonstrable experience in a similar role or through freelance work or voluntary projects, such as running a successful blog or website, will also be highly valued in the recruitment process.
The successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate:

- An understanding of how best to harness breaking news in the digital environment
