Salary: GBP16,900 (Salary GBP13,702 based on 30 hours a week)

From the 1st April 2019 Salary will raise to GBP17,383 per annum

We have an excellent opportunity for a Support Worker to join our Mollands lane team , Mollands lane is a 5 bedded registered care home providing 24 hour support for adults with learning disabilities.

You will be required to lead on support worker duties. This involves completing detailed support plans, risk assessments and leading on review meetings. We support individuals who display behaviours which challenge services, we work with a multi-disciplinary team and follow Positive Behaviour Support Plans, the support worker is responsible for implementing and monitoring these.

The ideal candidates will be highly person-centred, enthusiastic, motivated and committed in their approach to working with vulnerable people. In addition, we are looking for someone with good communication skills and IT skills.

Within this role you will be required to support people both male and female residents and will maintain up to date computerised and manual records.

You will need to be able to work on a rota basis including working weekends, mornings, afternoon shifts and sleep ins.

Due to the location and the duty of transporting clients you must be able to drive a manual vehicle (supplied)

  • Good communication both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with people with learning disabilities using a variety of methods to meet the needs of the individual.
  • To have a good level of numeracy to assist the service user to manage their finances.
  • The ability to work individually or as part of a team.
  • To understand and adhere to safeguarding principles.
  • To be honest, reliable, punctual, flexible and able to work shifts that include weekends and public holidays
  • To participate in staff meetings, training and other learning development opportunities * Full driving licence preferred (but not essential)
