The organisation is an independent, charity responsible for the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House - Whitehall, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle. They help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society in some of the greatest palaces ever built.

Over the centuries, many different people have graced HM Tower of London and their safety and security was paramount - and that is true in today's modern world where the Tower of London a UNESCO World Heritage site is a recognised Crowded Place.

With nearly four million visitors to the Tower of London each year and in the region of seven million people that use the Wharf each year, the security provision at this iconic World Heritage site is paramount.

Role Overview:

They are currently looking for a Security Team Leader, you should be energetic and enthusiastic, with high moral and ethical standards.

As a key member of the Tower of London Security Team, you will lead and manage a team of Security Officers (working a rolling shift of six days on, 3 days off) as they work to ensure a safe and secure environment to all visitors, staff and residents.

The Candidate:

There are many aspects to this role and you will be expected to be versatile, knowledgeable, flexible, with excellent communication, and interpersonal skills. You will support the Security Manager and Chief Security Officer and provide a high-profile presence, giving visitors the security they expect as well as delivering a Royal Welcome and 5* service to all.

As an experienced security professional, you will know what is needed, effectively managing your team and others and taking the initiative to identify better ways of working. With your expertise, you'll lead by example with values that demonstrate a high level of motivation and enthusiasm, encouraging and inspiring your staff. You will have proven experience in solution focussed problem solving, leadership and the ability to provide excellent customer service both to all, internal and external customers of the Tower.

In addition to the above requirements, it will be advantageous if you have proven experience of managing a team, that you have good IT skills, namely Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel. You must hold a current SIA Licence.
