Our vision is for a sustainable food and farming system which is good for people and good for nature. We want to see a system of farming across the Levels that sustains and restores farmland biodiversity as well as producing safe, healthy food, protects the natural resources of soil, air and water that farming itself depends on, provides income and employment for farmers and other workers in rural areas and contributing to a diverse rural economy. 

We are looking for a professional, persuasive and engaging individual with a sound understanding of current agricultural policy, and credibility within the farming community. They should have the skills and personality to be able to bring together a dynamic coalition, particularly farmers, but also farming representatives/unions, agri-businesses, statutory bodies and NGOs, to shape and develop sustainable farming and ecosystem services for this area of Wales, that is good for people and good for nature. 

This post if part funded through the Welsh Government Rural Communities - Rural Development 2014-2020, which is funded by the Welsh Government and the European Union. 
The post forms part of the larger Heritage Lottery Fund Living Levels programme on the Gwent Levels.

This is a fixed term appointment until June 2021, and will be partly based in Cardiff and partly at Pye Corner in Newport.

This role is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. You will be asked to declare unspent convictions and cautions at offer of employment stage.
