Operating across Devon and Torbay, Headway Devon is a local charity dedicated to improving life after brain injury.
Brain injuries are a hidden disability that can affect personalities, relationships and the ability to lead an independent life. When a person’s life is turned upside down by brain injury, we ensure they get the help and support they need and deserve.
Now, we’re looking for a Centre Support Worker to join one of our dedicated centres in Honiton or Torquay, working on a part time basis.

What will I be doing?
As a Centre Support Worker, you will provide a specialist re-ablement service for adults with acquired brain injury who visit our centres in Honiton or Torquay.
Working as part of a small team, you will facilitate games and activities that stimulate brain activity and will undertake minor amounts of daily care.

While no experience is necessary, to join our team, you’ll need:
- A good sense of humour and limitless patience
- To be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative
- A sensitive approach to vulnerable people, their rights, dignity and self-respect
- The desire to learn
- Great interpersonal and open and honest communication skills
Completion of a satisfactory DBS check will be required prior to commencing your role.
An NVQ Level 2 in Care would be beneficial to your application.
We’re eager to hear from individuals who have experience as, or would like to become a, Centre Support Worker, Support Worker, Care Worker, Junior Support Worker, Community Support Assistant, Care Assistant or Trainee Social Worker.
Please note, this role is available based in Honiton and Torquay.
This is a part time role working either seven hours on Tuesdays in Honiton and/or seven hours on Thursdays on Torquay.
The closing date for this role is Monday 25th February 2019.
