We are looking for a Conveyancing Assistant to join the Real Estate team of our Exeter Office. 

This is a full time opportunity working 9am-5.15pm Monday to Friday.

The Role:

You will be working as a Conveyancing Assistant within the Real Estate team.  Your focus would be on plot sales, but there would be some element of residential conveyancing.

In this role you will be dealing with sale transactions from initial instruction through to completion. Preparing contract packs comprising an index of documents (for example TP1s and leases from standard precedents), preparing standard letters and assisting with replies to any additional enquiries, liaising with agents and buyers solicitors, liaising with local authority planning and service providers where necessary, keeping the developer regularly informed,  updating each development progress schedule, preparing bills/invoices, completing Land Registry applications and supporting the Fee Earner in the Plot Sales team.

In addition to fee earning work, there will be administrative duties, such as assisting with general administration and Lexcel compliance. 

Are you the right person?

The ideal candidate will have worked as a paralegal or legal assistant in a property related environment, however, training will be given on specific duties.  

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a focus on exceptional client care. You will also be used to working in a busy and highly professional driven environment.

The position would suit someone who is highly organised, accurate, proactive, methodical, and committed to meeting deadlines while remaining calm under pressure. Excellent all round communication skills, professional telephone manner and attention to detail is essential. You will also have a flexible approach and the ability to work within a team environment

You will also need to be IT literate and be able to use a case management system.
