Indicative Grade 5 – £21,074 to £23,111, (pt 22-25 NJC Scale)

Final salary scale to be agreed pending formal job evaluation for the role.


Up to full time, 37 hours per week. (8:00 to 4:00 with a finish of 3:30 one day per week to be agreed dependent on Academy needs).

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a customer focused Office Administrator to join the existing Corporate Services team within St George’s Academy.

Reporting to the External Funding and Administration Manager, you will be responsible for providing a full range of administrative and clerical duties to the Principal and Senior Leadership Team. You will also work with the small team of Reception staff based at both Sleaford and Ruskington.

Key elements of the role will include responsibility for:

  • Acting as a first point of contact within the school for staff, governors, councillors, parents and others seeking contact with the Principal.
  • Assisting the Principal in organising their administrative workload 
  • Coordinating and recording meetings/events with students, staff and external agencies as appropriate.
  • Producing draft reports, briefing notes and information summaries for the Principal and/or members of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Supporting the Principal and/or the Senior Leadership Team to prepare a range of speeches/presentations, including any accompanying visual material.
  • Liaising with the Senior Leadership Team concerning the review and updating of policies and procedures.
  • Providing general/whole school administrative support as required, including administrative activities associated with Academy events.

You will be required to have knowledge of relevant confidentiality and data protection legislation and experience of providing high level administrative support in a busy, politically sensitive environment.

You should also have experience and a high level of skills in using a wide range of office equipment and ICT software, information systems in an administrative environment.

You will have an understanding of filing, storage and archive systems. In addition, you will have experience of working to deadlines and in adapting quickly to changing circumstances.

The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience. For the right candidate, consideration will however be given to offering a development role.
