Our client is one of the largest and most successful housing groups in the Midlands providing around 30,000 homes with a turnover of GBP140 million per year.
They have an exciting opportunity for an Income Officer to join their Housing and Neighbourhood Services Team.
Supporting the provision of a high quality income management service, you will also work in partnership with the Customer Service Centre to manage the rent and service charge accounts from beginning to end. In this key role you will promote tenancy sustainment by supporting an accurate, sensitive and responsive rent enquiry and information service together with representing their at County Court and initiate possession and court action.
Other responsibilities will include working with internal and external partners to ensure vulnerable customers are identified and are offered appropriate support. You will be a strong communicator, and deliver your skills through effective working relationships with all work colleagues.

The successful candidate will possess a higher level education (post A level) qualification or equivalent through relevant training or experience. You will have knowledge and understanding of current best practice in income management and rent arrears processes and be able to demonstrable relevant experience of working in a social housing environment in a similar or related role. Knowledge of housing and welfare benefits along with well developed IT skills including the use of MS Office and the ability to proficiently use computer databases is also required. In addition, you should be able to communicate clearly and concisely.
Due to the nature of the role you will hold a current clean driving licence and access to a vehicle, the ability and willingness to work flexibly and to attend meetings and other events outside normal business hours to meet the needs of the service may be required.
