We have a number of opportunities for individuals with experience in the physical asset management space to join our Asset Lifecycle Transformation team. We are looking for individuals who will play a key role in achieving our mission of helping clients thrive in the digital age. As a Business Architect in asset heavy capital projects and/or asset intensive industries, with an awareness of asset management functional processes, you will be part of a highly skilled team within a wider group of Operations professionals. Our engagements incorporate strategy definition, market assessment, operating model design, process reengineering, through to complex change programmes and implementation. You will be encouraged to initiate and develop new ideas to take to our clients. Our highly motivated team have an excellent track record of delivering high quality work to major international clients and has ambitious growth plans for the next few years.


About the roleAs a Manager / Senior Manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Experience and interest in asset heavy capital projects and/or in asset intensive industries in either the public or private sector is essential.

As a Business Architect within PwC you will be able to streamline business processes, functions, procedures and workflows and design and architect solutions. You will provide a bridge between the business problems and the technology solutions by keeping our clients at the forefront of digital technologies and ahead of their competitors. You will conduct post-implementation reviews to evaluate benefits accrued from new processes and systems and build and maintain standards and business architecture models and principles, for example process mapping. You will evaluate the impact of changes within the ecosystem of the organisation (including political, technical, social, regulatory, legal) on the business architecture and liaise with business stakeholders, providing guidance, architectural overview and technical strategy.

Reporting to Directors or Partners, you will lead teams in delivering client projects or work-streams on larger programmes of work. You will also play an important internal role in driving our consulting development programmes forward, imparting your skills and ways of thinking to others.


Essential Skills & experience

Extensive experience in one or more of our key Operations platforms -

  • Operating Model and business architecture (i.e. assessment, design and implementation)

  • Operations analytics (i.e. identifying/implementing KPIs and balanced scorecards, creating a baseline to monitor project improvements, conducting diagnostic reviews to identify opportunities for improvement and benchmarking)

  • Operational cost reduction (i.e. application of tools and techniques to aid consistent and emotion-free analysis of cost reduction targets, for example, Activity Based Costing and Zero or Priority Based Budgeting)

  • Lean (i.e.application of Lean thinking, combined with a proven transformation approach and programme management methodology to fix business issues, build sustainable client side Lean capability and fundamentally change the way people work, with a behaviour and performance mindset)

  • Process improvement (i.e. application of standard process design and improvement techniques, including effective implementation of process changes in operational environments).

  • Successful candidates will also need to demonstrate a proven track record in some or all of the following

  • Experience of interpreting clients strategic, operational and external drivers for change, gaining respect, building trust and inspiring clients by anticipating their needs and exceeding expectations within asset heavy capital projects and/or asset intensive industries eg transport, utilities & engineering

  • Experience of generating a vision, establishing direction and motivating people to focus efforts and build commitment towards achieving business goals

  • Functional understanding of the asset lifecycle through experience in asset heavy capital projects and/or asset intensive industries and an understanding of the current issues and challenges across the industry


  • Desirable Skills & experience
  • Experience of developing and maintaining deep client relationships at the highest levels of an organisation and to be recognised and respected by the client and colleagues as a knowledgeable, valued technical professional

  • Proven experience of being a highly effective developer of people by making time to coach, mentor and develop others

  • Extensive experience of supervising and developing team members (dependant on grade)

  • Significant experience working within and (dependant on grade) managing large, complex projects and teams

  • Evidence of consistently demonstrating team leadership while managing multiple projects or complex assignments
