As a Junior Desktop Systems Engineer, you will be a real team player and a key member of the systems team playing a key role in providing technical support to a range of End Points, System and Users. Working closely with colleagues and business users you will help resolve incidents and service request as well as supporting project and initiatives within the organisation.

How will you spend your days?

  • Provide pro-active support to users daily dealing with IT queries and managing and prioritising issues.
  • Analysing, diagnosing and resolving End Point Devices and System related issues using analytical and technical skills.
  • Work directly with other Technical teams within ICT to support projects and implement new systems.
  • Monitoring and managing supported systems to improve and maintain performance and stability at their optimum and minimise downtime and adverse business impacts.
  • Managing customer liaison, pro-active feedback and customer queries from ticket creation to resolution within agreed SLA.
  • Liaising with Administrators, Analysts, Technical Leads and 3rd parties where necessary on issues and queries to resolution.
  • Trend analysis of common issues for problem investigation and resolution using a wide selection of tools and systems.

How will you stand out?

  • Previous experience working in a collaborative Desktop Support type team role.
  • Experience of supporting a wide range of endpoint devices and software.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Windows and the use of Microsoft Office (Office 365) along with Antivirus and other desktop software in a large organisation.
  • A good working knowledge of supporting devices and users in a large organisation.
  • Exposure or knowledge of ITiL V3 would also be beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • A keen desire to know more about the technical environment you work in.
  • Strong diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent all-round organisational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • An inquisitive mind and a desire to learn and progress.
