The Role 

As a Purchasing Assistant, you will provide a range of support to the Purchasing Team to assist with a wide variety of activities from attending supplier meetings to providing product spec for the catalogue.

In this engaging role, you will:  

- Support Buyers on catalogue meetings with suppliers 
- Communicate with suppliers and update related documentation 
- Assist with the collection of information for tenders 
- Help to produce product catalogues 
- Write product information for the website and catalogues 
- Ensure that all product data is up-to-date and accurate 
- Help to resolve invoice queries

About You  

To be considered as a Purchasing Assistant, you will need:  

- At a minimum, an A Level (or equivalent) in English Language   
- To be eager to learn and increase your skill-set  
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships  
- A highly-organised approach  

Previous buying experience would be beneficial, but this is not essential as full training will be provided. Knowledge of office products would also be an advantage, as would a strong understanding of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Ideally, you’ll also be able to work on multiple projects and ensure deadlines are adhered to.  

Other companies may call this role Purchasing Administrator, Trainee Purchasing Executive, Trainee Buyer, Purchasing Administrator, Procurement Assistant or Procurement Co-ordinator.
