Eyewear Designer
Working on UK and European high street accounts, sunglass and optical licenses and high end collections. This will include working with Account Managers to satisfy customers and Director of Design to develop new collections for licenses.
Job Description:
Work with the Sales Team to decide on the direction for innovation.
Produce ideas for collections and design solutions for the Sales Team
Help to pitch for new licenses.
Draw cads for new styles.
Brief cads to suppliers.
Amend designs according to the clients' final requirements
Research eyewear, fashion, colour trends and create mood boards for customers.
Select new frames for different accounts from suppliers.
Work to a critical path and to design products with an awareness of price.
Produce reports and present the ideas to colleagues and clients at various stages of the design process.
Liaise with Far East suppliers on a regular basis.
Person Specification:
Relevant degree in product, fashion or print design is essential
High standard in using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
Previous experience in eyewear design is essential
Work well in a team
Pro-active and creative
Understand different materials and production methods
Experience of working with Far East suppliers
Understanding of construction and manufacturing processes
Proven ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
Ability to work independently toward project goals and timelines
Strong knowledge of current trends, colour, technology, competitor landscape
Strong skills in design for manufacturing
Strong conceptual, creative and analytical skills
Additional Information:
* Based in Chessington
* 9.00am - 5.00pm, Monday to Thursday with 4.00pm finish on Fridays
