Devon County Council is looking for a hard-working team player to work across a range of back-office service activities and highway processes within the dynamic and fast-paced Highway Services Team (HST). Knowledge of highway management or local government operations would be helpful, but customer service, IT and clerical skills are essential.

The role is varied and may see you dealing with a variety of customer contact – including through social media channels – liaising with internal officers and engineers, processing application and license requests for working on or altering the highway, administering insurance claims, dealing with reports of dangerous trees, promoting community engagement and many other tasks.

Although this is a fixed-term post, ending on 31 March 2020, you would likely have opportunities within the contract time-frame to apply for a permanent position within the HST, or elsewhere within the service.
