SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER

NOTTINGHAM

We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Quality Engineer to join an automotive components company at a time to contribute to their ambitious growth plans. Ideally from an automotive, or similar quality related, background you will report directly to the Quality Manager enjoying the dual aspects of contributing towards Quality Assurance and Supplier Raw Material Management. The role will involve dealing with customers and suppliers, as well as interaction with the shop floor to deal with any issues that may arise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF QUALITY ASSURANCE:

 

  • Manage internal, customer and supplier quality concerns
  • Investigate, contain and manage shop-floor and supplier quality issues
  • Produce corrective action reports, tracking systems for supplier quality issues
  • Ensure all issues are dealt with promptly and effectively
  • Monitor first off, last off product verification
  • Continually update and improve SOP’s and ensure conformance
  • Visit customers and suppliers
  • Work with the Quality and Logistics Manager to develop, support and maintain quality systems and enforce conformance
  • Interact daily to support with production processes
  • Review issues in real time, offering technical advice and support
  • Monitor and measure quality and scrap issues, take required action

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF SUPPLIER QUALITY:

 

  • Create, review and feedback Supplier Quality issues
  • Maintenance of Supplier Quality KPI’s
  • Raising and issue of supplier concerns
  • Creation of IMRR’s (incoming material rejection reports)
  • Supplier visits and auditing
  • Development of Supplier performance and standards

 

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER:

 

  • Organised with good time management skills and capable of working on own initiative
  • A “hands on” operator
  • Experienced working in a fast-paced production environment
  • Relevant qualification – Technical / Engineering / QA
  • A good team player
  • Experience within the automotive industry a distinct advantage
  • Proven experience dealing with OEM’s, Tier 1’s and suppliers
  • Strong and firm character, capable of dealing with difficult situations and supplier representatives
