The Team
The Corporate Group spans all of the firm's offices and is ranked as a tier 1 practice.
Our private funds group is a dynamic and emerging practice within our Corporate Group and is making waves in the UK legal market. The team's notable client base ranges from first-time funds and independent boutiques to global institutional investors and managers, supporting a variety of high profile fund mandates across a range of sectors (including private equity, debt, real estate, infrastructure, energy and fund of funds).
The group has brought in leading individuals from U.S., magic circle and tier 1 practices in recent years and now comprises over 30 professionals. With specialists in fund formation, fund investment, fund finance, regulation and tax, the group is able to offer clients a one-stop solution for all of its needs.
What we are looking for
Historically based in London, it is now looking to recruit a funds associate and/or managing associate in Leeds to support its growth across the UK. Working closely with a leading partner in the market, you can expect to be involved in all aspects of funds work including:
advising a wide range of LPs on their investments in closed-ended and open-ended investment funds; ??
advising managers on all aspects of fund formation work including advising on structuring, marketing and fund documentation; and
investment management arrangements. Associates are encouraged to take direct responsibility for clients and to become actively involved in client and business development initiatives. There is significant scope for you to build a practice and contribute to the wider success of the firm. There are excellent prospects for progression within this role and within the firm as a whole.
Knowledge, skills & experience:
Our ideal candidate will have the following skills:
Excellent academic achievement with a minimum 2:1 degree
Experience gained within a comparable environment and at an appropriate level (or can demonstrate a keen interest)
Clear understanding and working experience of the operation and structure of a leading law firm and the needs of the clients of a top flight team
