Who am I working for?
We are Play Area Hygiene Services (PAHS), a family-run business specialising in the play area leisure sector. Born in 1998, we clean, maintain and upgrade play areas throughout the UK.

- Gain valuable experience with a growing company
- Monday – Friday working hours only

- Take part in a diverse range of projects – no one job is ever the same
You’ll receive great training to bring you up-to-speed and provide you with the skills you need to make a success of the role. It’s on-the-job training, so initially, when working at customers’ sites, you’ll be partnered with an experienced Technician who will guide you and support your work.
What will I be doing?
As a Play Equipment Maintenance Engineer, you will carry out work on indoor play frames at sites throughout the UK.
In this varied role, you will install, maintain and clean our range of indoor play equipment. You will also have the opportunity to work in the manufacturing side of our business, making this a great opportunity to expand your skill-set.
Based just outside of Kingsbridge, you’ll spend some of your time at our site and the remainder working at sites throughout the UK to deliver great services to indoor play providers.
Time away is varied: some weeks you will not be required to spend any nights away and others you will be required to spend four nights away per week.
Please note, this role will involve working in confined spaces and at times working at height.
What do I need?
- The ability to operate hand tools and work in a safe manner
- A commitment to keeping customers happy
- A full, valid driving licence
- The flexibility to work early mornings and evenings
- The ability to occasionally stay away for a period of time as we are nationwide
- A practical mindset
- To be a quick learner
Ideally, you’ll have previous carpentry experience, but this is by no means essential.
Other companies may call this role Maintenance Technician, Field Service Technician, Trainee Maintenance Operative, General Maintenance Operative, Repairs Technician, Trainee Carpenter, Labourer or General Assistant.
This is a full time role, working a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Please note that permanent employees are only permitted to take holiday during the summer months, as this is the company’s quiet period.
This role is available on a permanent basis or a fixed-term contract lasting until the end of December 2019.
Webrecruit and PAHS are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment.
