Our Client is currently recruiting for a Process Manager on a Permanent basis.
Hours of work : Essentially 8:00 - 16:30 although some shift working may be required from time to time. A flexible approach to hours is required.
Management of Personnel : seven members of staff directly reporting to the Process Manager, six work rotating shifts and one works the day shift.
The process : Processing fish by-products collected and delivered from all over England, most come from Grimsby. We produce fishmeal and fish oil which is used in animal feed and pet food.
The Company : The biggest fishmeal producer in the UK with sites in Grimsby, Aberdeen, Greenock and Shetland. A multinational company based in Bergen, Norway with Feed and Food divisions employing over 700 people.
The Role : A new role created to harmonise three different shifts, to motivate the team into a highly efficient department, to develop all the team members into multiskilled individuals. The individual must be able to demonstrate an ability in health and safety and have a desire to improve this area. Most procedures are in place but may need minor improvements. The site has recently gone through the BRC process and achieved accreditation, the Process Manager will be expected to continue and improve on this high standard.
The Suitable Applicant : an experienced, confident individual who would be happy with a somewhat hands-on role and have the ability to deal with a group of people some of whom have been with the company for many years. Our requirements include: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with different departments as well as their own team; high levels of self-motivation and knowledge of quality procedures would be key areas that would get our interest. Knowledge of the seafood industry would be useful although not essential.
The Site : based in Grimsby has been manufacturing fishmeal since 1935, we continue to invest heavily in the site which is an essential part of the fish processing industry. 26 employees including group sales team and management, not all employees are based on site. The group bagging operation is carried out on our site. The plant is capable of processing over 300 tonnes of raw material a day and storing over 1000 tonnes of finished product.
