Costbase Account/ Preston/Blackburn area/ Initial 15 Month Contract/ GBP27Ltd per hour
My client is a well respected engineering organisation who is currently experiencing an ongoing period of growth and success. Due to an ever increasing workload, they are currently looking to recruit a Costbase Accountant to join their dedicated team of professionals to be based out of their impressive operations in the Preston/ Blackburn area. This is an initial 15 month contract and is paying a rate of GBP27Ltd per hour. Please find the role description below:
Role Description
The role will sit with the Central Finance Team consisting of Costbase and Governance and will report directly to the Finance Manager and will provide the candidate a good understanding of Systems process and controls and how they impact the different systems within the business.
Knowledge, appreciation and application of the Operational Framework will also be developed in particular the Finance Policy Manual and Financial Control Framework.
Main Responsibilities
The business needs to run its day to day operations in a consistent manner with a clear focus not only on proper governance of the business but also to ensure that shareholder value is maximised in accordance with proper governance procedures.
The Business is governed by the Operational Framework which sets out the mandatory policies to be followed in conducting the Group's business, whereas the Delegated of Authorities (DoA) sets the financial boundaries by which the business can operate.
The Costbase team are responsible for providing costbase information and support to the functions on a monthly basis, reporting costbase within the business. Successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Manager - Governance and Cost Base and be responsible for the following key deliverables;
* Co-ordinate and diarise costbase reviews throughout the year with the DI Management Functional leads to ensure understanding and ownership of budgets and reforecasts.
* Work as part of the costbase team in delivering the monthly cost base management reporting requirements within the required timescales.
* Provide information into the monthly cost base reviews within the business, providing functional managers with information to support their areas.
* Plan and evaluate the cost base reforecast working with the functions to provide information to the timescales allowing sufficient time to review within the DI business.
* Assist with the DI submission of the Cost base IBP. Ensure that the cost base IBP ties in with the DI Project IBP assumptions. Work with the business to ensure better alignment of Supply and Demand of resource.
* Ensure continual analysis of overhead expenditure ensuring that costs are allocated to cost base or contract in accordance with the QMAC and financial governance
* Prepare and submit cost recovery invoices in a timely manner to ensure cost base budgets/cost adherence and support billable cost invoices for Air programmes projects.
* Support the business in completing the e-COSA process, ensuring appropriate questions are answered within the team, review sessions are in place and action plans are robust and completed in line with agreed completion dates.
* Provide assurance to the Head of Finance that e-COSA submissions are reliable by performing reliance testing across the business.
* Ensure Governance procedures and work instructions are established and fully embedded within the business; this will involve working with DI Financial Controllers and Process Owners.
* Support the business in managing any Financial Control Framework reviews and audits, ensuring actions are completed in line with agreed completion dates.
Skills and Qualifications
* Ideally a Qualified?? or part qualified Accountant but will take into account experience from other functions (QBE)?
* Can work and influence at varying levels of management.
*IT skills - good knowledge of excel & SAP, basic knowledge of word & powerpoint;
* Leadership - Will need to work with and provide guidance to Senior Managers within the business.
* Problem Solving - Will need to plan activities and deliver to tight timescales, whilst using different systems to get the information for the whole of DI until the business transitions on to one Finance System.
* Interpersonal Skills - Building effective relationships to provide and receive the information that is required.
