Description
There compliance team sets the compliance strategy and monitors and manages the specific areas of risk exposure across the business. The compliance analyst roles in the department involve both routine and thematic monitoring and reviews to provide the board and the group's executive team with assurance of the group's ongoing compliance with its regulatory obligations and policies. The team is also responsible for the provision of advice and guidance to the business on regulatory and procedural issues, with particular focus on conduct of business and client money and asset requirements.
Understand broader strategy and business plans for Risk & Compliance (R&C) Compliance function with particular focus on monitoring requirements for Compliance monitoring
Liaise and assist as required with Group Internal Audit in all matters pertaining to monitoring requirements for Compliance
Participate in management meetings or committees as and when required.
Escalate and report any concerns identified to your manager together with plans/mitigating activities and recommendations.
Other liaison and Stakeholder management external to R&C, where appropriate, to ensure compliance and reputation is maintained and developed.
Undertake risk analysis and exception reporting along with other desk based monitoring methods to monitor the activities across operations.
Assess compliance to regulatory requirements and where necessary to escalate the findings to manager.
Where there are breaches of regulatory requirements, or internal policies and procedures support manager in addressing these issues
As required, assist with investigations
To participate in business meetings or committees as and when required.
To provide regular reports on activity and any regulatory issues which have been identified during the course of day to day activities
Produce management information for inclusion into the monthly report
To support awareness across the Group of the roles and responsibilities of the Compliance Function and specifically to support strategy for Regulatory Risk
To be aware of changing legislation, regulation and Group policy relating to Regulatory Risk for the UK, Jersey and Ireland.
Maintain knowledge on industry events, regulatory matters, company policies and procedures as appropriate.
Flexible & able to adapt to changes in working requirements, including with or for others teams in Compliance Monitoring if required.
Provide own area's activity reporting that proactively meets internal and external customer needs
Minimise needs for adhoc reporting thereby keeping resource requirements efficient
Ensure high standards of documentation quality
Profile
The successful Compliance Analyst will have:
Willingness to undertake industry examinations & continuously develop knowledge.
Any Compliance or Regulatory Risk course accreditation's e.g. SII Regulation and Compliance Diploma would be an advantage.
Expe3+ year's relevant industry experience in a Regulatory or Compliance role
Knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation and processes in order to monitor business areas and team members.
Good awareness of current financial legislation and regulation
Ensure up to date and accessible data management
Proactively keep ahead of market developments which may impact future direction and strategy
Maintain an effective working knowledge of EU, UK Irish, Jersey & Ireland regulatory requirements to ensure new policies/procedures are introduced as appropriate
Strong and effective communication skills (written and verbal)
Excellent administration, planning and organisation skills
Excellent attention to detail
Good team player - readily assists team, particularly in busy periods
Displays enthusiasm, credibility and determination
Passion for continuous improvement
Can grasp new ideas and concepts quickly
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
