Currently, we are seeking a Director of Business Development to join our growing team in Halifax, NS. * Work together with Sr. VP Commercial and VP Business Development on the development of pursuit plans and their integration within CarteNav; * Work together with Sr. VP Commercial and VP Business Development on the development and implementation of the BD/Sales budget; * Understand, maintain currency and be able to demonstrate and present the complete range of products and services offered by CarteNav Solutions; * Cultivate strong relationships with existing key accounts, prospective customers and industry OEMs as directed by senior management; * Actively network to extend the existing portfolio of key industry contacts; * Identify new business opportunities, generate leads and seek new partnerships; * Generate quotes and proposals to company templates and guidelines; * Take ownership of recording every sales lead being pursued and ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company's sales management system; * Consult with, and present to, Sr. VP Commercial and VP Business Development on business trends and competitor analysis; * Attend tradeshows and industry functions, contribute to trip reports and undertake resulting actions; * Contribute to marketing material and other business development collateral; * Maintain regular communications with a geographically dispersed business development team. * Completion of a post-secondary Bachelor degree, preferably in Business, Commerce or Engineering; * Minimum of Five (5) years of sales experience in a related industry; * Proven understanding of the industry and area of service; * Experience in planning and attending trade shows and conferences for the purposes of developing new business; * A natural ability for discovering new leads and opportunities; * Strong communication skills with internal teams as well as customers; * A people-centric approach to business development - dedicating time to build relationships and understand a customer's needs; * An engaging personality that is easily adapted in social selling environments; * Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy; * High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability; * Ability to work cohesively on a team as well as work and travel independently on specific sales pursuits; * MS Office program experience; * Impeccable presentation skills; * Excellent organizational skils; * Excellent time management skills and ability to work effectively from a home office; * The ability to travel both domestically and internationally; * Creative mindset, eager to bring new and innovative ideas to the team.
