Location: Basingstoke, RG21 4AB
Hours: 45 Hours per week Monday to Friday 08:45 to 17:45

Mitie is currently looking to add a Full-Time Security Officer (FT) to join the Total Security Management Team to be based in Basingstoke on a prestigious contract with family friendly hours.

Reporting to Security Operations Manager the Security Officer will be responsible for providing a highly visible and proactive security presence in an expeditious manner and demanding environment. The Security Officer will be working on a site that is home to around 25 employees and welcomes up to 75 visitors on a weekly basis.

Job Details-

• The Security Officer is responsible in co-ordinating all emergency situations from the control, ensuring information are escalated to the appropriate body immediately
• Monitoring CCTV and all security systems, following procedures in the event of an incident
• Meeting and Greeting Individuals who attend site and ensuring no one is enabled access who is not permitted to be there.
• Issuing ID passes using ID checker system if an employee had forgotten their pass.
• Providing a visible security contact for visitors and staff
• The Security Officer is to detect and Detecting and preventing theft, vandalism or any other form of crime by conducting internal patrols, monitoring premises and monitoring personnel.
• Dealing with any difficult situations that arise in a calm and professional manner.
• Managing logbooks and reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities.

Key Skills & Experience-

• Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal
• Calm and professional under pressure
• Have understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant Criminal, Civil Law and Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
• Experience of carrying out duties as a Security Officer, Security Guard (Desirable)
• Frontline Security Guarding, Door Supervision or Close Protection SIA licence (or have passed the relevant SIA training and hold valid certificates
• First Aid Certificate
• A full five year checkable employment / education history
• Experience of delivering excellent Customer Service
