The Company and the Role:
An outstanding opportunity to join a highly recognised and popular Southampton city centre based hotel.
This Night Manager position is for someone with excellent guest and customer service skills as you will be the main point of contact and the person in charge in the evenings and throughout the night.
You will run all departments, including reception, front of house and audits, while making sure that all guests are taken care of and comfortable in their stay.

Key Features of the Role:
Managing a team of 4, the main function for this role is to oversee the night shift, manage the nightshift team and ensure that all standards are upheld.
The main function for this department is to ensure the profitable, efficient and safe operation of the hotel during the night shift according to company procedures.

Customer Focus
Ensure that the Nightshift team actively seeks to exceed customer expectations at all times.
Deal with any customer complaints in a timely and efficient manner.

Operational Responsibilities & Support
Take responsibility for all aspects during your shift which ensure the safety and security of all staff and guests on site
Adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
Perform Night Audit as and when required.
Ensure full hand-overs are carried out at the beginning and end of each shift.
Take responsibility for the security of the building (including hourly walk rounds) during the night shift
Act as fire warden in the case of an incident during the night shift
Strictly observe all Licensing and Food Hygiene Regulations.

Team Support
Fully manage all members of the Nightshift team concerning pay, job role guidance and any other related issues.
Feedback any information from management meetings to team members.
Ensure team members are recognised and rewarded for service excellence.
Carry out regular departmental meetings that act as a forum to discuss any issues that affect the team and the company.
Regularly appraise team members and give them frequent feedback on their performance.

Sales & Revenue
Be proactive regarding hotel promotions relating to food and beverage sales and room sales.
Ensure all Night team members are fully trained to ensure maximum up selling.
Control all expenditure inline with forecast and budget responsibilities.

Health & Safety
Participate in emergency situations, including fire and bomb incidents, and co-ordinate as Senior Manager on site
Take reasonable care for health safety of yourself, colleagues and guests who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.
Ensure that the Company complies fully and at all times with its legal duties regarding health, safety and welfare matters.
Familiarise yourself with and comply with the Company's 'Health and Safety' and 'Fire and Bomb' procedures
Report immediately all accidents involving injury or illness to your Line Manager or Executive Team
Highlight Health and Safety or maintenance issues and follow them up.

Knowledge and Skills:
The ideal candidate will come from a hotel management position within a Reception, Front of House, Night Manager, Night Auditor background.
Ideally you will be OPERA systems trained.
You will be career driven and wanting to enhance your knowledge and skills, highly customer and guest focused.
You will be polite, presentable and helpful.
You will be pro-active with knowledge and skills to adapt to any situation and be flexible towards working hours.

Basic salary will be around GBP24,000 per annum. In addition there is an excellent range of benefits.
