Advanced Sensors, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Esterline, produces various temperature and speed sensors, as well as electrical harnesses, cables, and related hardware. The Director, Sales manages the sales activities for the existing business for the site. Co-ordinates the support of the site for the Business Development Managers in the scope of the Win New Business Process. What You Will Do: * Consolidates figures for the preparation of the budget, SBS and FRQs s and SBS for the site * Co-ordinate sales input for the site SIOP process * Follows up execution of the budget, identifies risks and opportunities and understand variances and provide explanation through the account manager * Ensures application of terms and conditions of existing contracts by both the site and the customer through the account manager * Attends customer meetings and co-ordinate preparation (including performance reviews) * Manages prices, liaises with customer services the update of pricing in the ERP at the appropriate time * Manage specific customer issues and report on this to the relevant parties * Support the Account Manager for the preparation of strategy for non-strategic customers and obtain approval from the VP Sales and inform the LTM * Support the Account Manager in the negotiation for contract / prices for existing business for non- strategic customers in line with the customer strategy * Presents offers for engineering activities relating to existing products reviews radar and proposal tracker * Regularly review radar and proposal tracker with Account Manager and Business Development Manager * Identify and report on commercial issues relating to NPI activities following CDR and report to LMT and VP Sales * Regularly communicates and co-ordinates with Business Development Mangers on up-coming RFQs, bid strategy, contract negotiation, budget and 5 year plan * Participates and provides input to the Business Development Manager for the Strategic Account strategy * Ensures that inputs for proposals for new business is provided to the Business Development Managers * Validates bid / no bid decision from the Bid Managers, escalates to VP Sales and Site Director in cases of disagreement between Bid Manager and Business Development Manager * Supports the Business Development Manager on existing or new contract negotiations with Strategic Accounts * Approves price list and terms for quotes and to customer services (customer services issue quotes) * Visit customers on specific issues or reviews where appropriate * Provides weekly and monthly reporting * Owns Sales EOS and input to the L2 deck for the site * Participates to commercial discussion with site partners for innovation projects * Site based * Actively participates in Lean and 6S initiatives. * Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above * Understand and live by Esterline's ethics and business conduct policies * Performs other duties as required. * Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related field required. * Minimum of 10 years significant direct sales experience and account management experience in an Aerospace manufacturing environment. * Good knowledge of the aerospace industry, aircraft technologies and sensor applications * Strong business acumen and customer interaction experience, in both customer relationship management * Demonstrated knowledge of sales, business principles, practices and operations as typically acquired by a college degree or the equivalent in related work experience. * Good technical knowledge with a working understanding of the technologies available within Esterline Advanced Sensors. * Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team * Ability to represent the Advanced Sensors Platform at the customer on their own and to discuss specific subjects with that customer (appropriate preparation as required) * Knowledge and understanding of contract and order fulfilment policies (FAR, JAR). * Demonstrates clear and effective oral and written communications with fluency in English. * Confidentiality is important as the position interfaces with all levels of management and staff. * Travel is required within the assigned area; a valid driver's license and good driving record are required. * Must be able to travel internationally when requested. * Highest levels of personal integrity and honesty.
