The Operations division is both the first line of defence for protecting Morgan Stanley's financial and reputational well-being, and an essential partner contributing to the firm's growth. Facing off to all Morgan Stanley businesses and interacting with all other parts of the Firm, the Operations division supports a complex, multi-faceted portfolio of businesses in full compliance with regulatory guidelines and the directives of the Operating Committee and Board of Directors.

Members of the Operations team have a unique vantage point as the division touches all parts of the business, front to back. One of the largest divisions in the firm, Operations has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Team Profile:
ISG Product Operations is a world-class global team of dedicated professionals, performing myriad functions, all with a common purpose: to manage Morgan Stanley's Clearing and Trading & Client operational processes and deliver value to our clients in a controlled and efficient way. The broad organization partners closely with Sales and Trading to develop and implement new products and services as well as drive efficiency and reduce risk in our processes. At all times we are focused on delivering quality service to clients both internal and external. ISG Product Operations encompasses two functionally aligned organizations. The first, Trading & Client Operations, provides Operations functions in direct support of activity executed by Institutional Sales & Trading. The second, Clearing Operations, provides Operations functions in direct support for activity cleared by Morgan Stanley on behalf of our clients in Prime Brokerage, Listed Derivatives, and OTC Derivatives.

Primary Responsibilities:
Securities Lending describes the practice whereby securities are transferred temporarily from one party (lender) to another (borrower) for a fee. The borrower is required to return them either on demand or at the end of any agreement. The borrower will provide the lender with collateral for the period of the loan.

The motivations to participate in Stock Lending include:
- To provide short coverage lending and financing facilities to firm clients.
- To cover deliveries which arise as a consequence of failed settlement
- Transfer ownership of securities temporarily that will benefit both the borrower and lender
The Securities Lending Operational department based in Glasgow is responsible for supporting the trading activities of the business and currently there are over 30 employees. The primary teams are Lender Services, Middle Office and Connectivity & Vendor Management.
The primary responsibilities of the Exposure Management role include:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Morgan Stanley and Client / Lender Operations groups
- The role includes working with a variety of divisions within Morgan Stanley including Credit, Position Services and Security Settlements
- Delivery of the Continuous Improvement agenda
- Be responsible for the delivery and oversight of key reporting and updates to Financing Operations and BRM Management
- Ensure Key Performance Indicators and Key Risk Indicator benchmarks are met, and implement remediation strategies with the vendor where required
- Produce management reporting information to ensure processes are recorded and all key controls are delivered
- Involvement in BCP transference testing and ensuring knowledge dilution in Glasgow is minimised
- Working with Equilend/Pirum and lenders to drive the connectivity agenda
- Enhance the current capcon and TDABC models
- Enhance and contribute to the reporting for the MBR
- Participation and leadership of lender relationship calls
- Involvement in the ALD process
- Provide ops support for Technology developments
- Participate in NPA (New Product Approvals)

Qualifications
Skills required (essential):
Exposure Management is an extremely busy role particularly around month end and quarter end, therefore essential the successful candidate can add immediate benefit.
Previous experience of Securities Lending is not essential but preferred. A proven track record in relationship management is required as is experience of managing process, risk and controls.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- A good aptitude for working in a demanding, fast paced environment
- An ability to handle high volume workloads and prioritisation skills
- Flexibility with regards to hours worked
- A good approach to change management on account of the team?s continual growth and development
- Strong communication skills as you will be expected to develop relationships with the vendor & the Business Unit
- An understanding of escalation
- An ability to handle working in a pressurised environment
- A desire to question existing procedures and continually seek to improve processes
