The Role - Technical Support Specialist (Biomedical Scientist or Laboratory Technician)
The primary role would be to provide first line technical support to customers, and to contribute in delivering an excellent customer service. The role would be expected to support primarily the Clinical Diagnostics business. This would include supporting the systems, reagents and software of this division.
The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting departmental KPIs and for contributing to smooth running of the day to day support operation.
To be considered, you should have the following experience:
1: Identify, research, and resolve technical problems on the company's product portfolio
2: Respond to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support
3: Document, track, and monitor cases on a daily basis to ensure compliance and timely resolutions
4: Prioritise multiple issues and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
5: Improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction
6: Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
7: Work with Dispatch/other to ensure cases are routed to the proper resource in order to be resolved quickly and efficiently
8: Escalate cases that require 2nd level support
9: Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
10: Basic remote access solution implementation and support
11: Help with training and development
12: Complete paperwork and forms
Your Background - Technical Support Specialist (Biomedical Scientist or Laboratory Technician)
Work experience and Biomedical science experience would be good. Otherwise work experience in the Clinical lab or serology lab.
Bachelor in Biomedical science, Biochemistry or similar. Preferably with a Research focus in the academic degree.
- Being Service minded and having a ''can do attitude'' will be heavily weighted in the candidates profile
- Experience with customer service or customer facing work
- Experience working in a compliant and regulated environment
- Experience with Quality Control and/or Accredited lab
- Experience with Autoimmunity
- Experience with PCR techniques
- Experience with Chromatography
- Experience with Common office appliances like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, databases, CRM systems etc
- Good phone skills and excellent telephone manner.
