The St Peter and St James Hospice and Continuous Care Centre is situated in the heart of the Sussex countryside near Haywards Heath, providing specialist short and longer-term integrated palliative care.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our Clinical Information Team in the role of Clinical Information Administrator (Data).

Reporting to the Head of Nursing & Clinical Care you will work with clinical teams in the day to day input and update of patient data using the Hospice Patient Record Systems (SystmOne), and produce timely and accurate reports on our patient data.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the processing of clinical documentation, including referrals and updating patient data on SystmOne in a timely manner. You will act as the SystmOne resource within the Trust and oversee management of the SystmOne database including troubleshooting, training, induction, planning and software updates. You will be fully conversant with and follow Information Governance policies, ensuring that data quality, retention and data sharing is in accordance with associated legislation and safeguarding patient and service user information is in line with Caldicott principles.

Other duties include producing standard clinical reports and data analyses for non-clinical departments and management as well as liaising with other agencies as required, as part of the process of ensuring that patient information is current and accurate.

Where required you will handle telephone calls from patients or their relatives with sensitivity and ensure that patient record documentation is checked for accuracy and filed appropriately.

If you have a head for data collation and analysis, are well-organised and pro-active as well as diplomatic, calm under pressure and have a good telephone manner, this could be the job for you. You will also need to have excellent administration and computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of clinical administration systems, whilst not essential, would be highly advantageous.

This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

Please note that due to our location you must have your own transport.
