Financial Controller - Spider. The Regions Fixed Fee Web Recruiters are thrilled to be supporting an expanding renewable energy plant in their search for a Financial Controller to be based at their offices in Wisbech.
As a Financial Controller, the key focus of this role will be to take charge of a small existing finance team, ensuring the team is effectively motivated, trained and developed. You will also provide business and financial guidance, ensuring that the company's financial commitments are promptly met.
Other duties and responsibilities included in this role:
- Provide and interpret financial information, including Key Performance Indicators and Key Risk Indicators
- Monitor and interpret cash flows, predicting future trends
- Manage the company's financial accounting / planning and reporting systems
- Produce accurate financial reports to specific deadlines and where appropriate report findings to the Board of Directors
- Manage the company's annual budget setting process
- Oversee the preparation of the company's financial year end accounts and ensure that these are presented accurately on time
- Oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory returns to external bodies such as HMRC
- Undertake staff performance and development reviews in line with HR policies and procedures
- Maintain and develop external relationships with key contacts
- Research and report on factors influencing the businesses performance
Skills and attributes required:
- Qualified Accountant (AC, ACCA, CIMA)
- Excellent people management skills with the ability to train, develop and motivate a small team
- Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- A good team player
- Confident and assertive
- Solution driven with good initiative
- Ability to manage workloads and effectively prioritise workload under pressure
