Job Purpose

Reporting to the Technology Director, the IT Support Technician will be responsible for the support of all the company cloud server platforms, improvement and maintenance of the internal network, providing desktop and IP telephony support to all our users.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to really put their stamp on this role, although as a IT Support Technician you will have your everyday schedule of work to carry out we encourage initiative and welcome ideas to really improve all our services supporting some of the world’s largest retailers.

Being a great communicator is vital in been a IT Support Technician as this will truely provide great internal customer service, the ability to speak confidently to staff members at all levels right up to senior board level is as important as your technical ability.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of various Window O/S’s – Server2008, 2008R2, 2012R2, Windows 7 and 10.
  • SQL installation, configuration and maintenance including backups
  • Domain management tools - Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS etc
  • User, Resource and Group Administration via Active Directory and Office365 Admin portal
  • Mobile device management via Office 365 portal
  • Virtual Machine management via VMWare ESXi, MS Hyper-V and vCloud Director including creation and ongoing maintenance.
  • VPN creation and diagnostics using VCloud and SonicWall network appliance
  • Backup technologies including Windows Server Backup and Veeam Endpoint
  • Firewall management for both vCloud and SonicWall
  • WAN and LAN networking, IP subnetting, managed switches
  • VOIP telephone system knowledge and understanding to allow fault diagnosis and configuration
  • Bitlocker Hard Drive Encryption
  • Hardware knowledge including desktop pc’s, laptops, printers, network switches
  • Remote management tools – Remote Desktop, VNC and NoMachine
  • Remote access using NetExtender and LoginTC 2 Factor authentication
  • Knowledge and understanding of software packages including MS Office 365, Adobe, Sage, SonicWall NetExtender.
  • Client and Server Anti-Virus packages used include Windows MSE and ESET.
  • Network, server, client, printer monitoring via Spiceworks
  • Experience of IIS website hosting, domain and SSL configuration for optimal and continued performance
  • Understanding of PCI requirements, undertaking quarterly scans and implementing identified vulnerabilities.
  • Provide support to all levels of users for hardware and software issues.
  • Account management of Broadband, Telephony, Cloud & Third-Party support providers

Nice to Have

  • ITIL Foundation or Practitioner
  • Experience of ISO 27001 environments/requirements
  • Experience of Google Cloud or Azure Cloud services and configurations
  • Awareness or Experience of GDPR
  • Experience of Platforms that support the full Microsoft Development Stack

Holidays: 20 days holiday per annum plus statutory holidays
Hours: 40 hours per week, core hours 8.45am – 5.30pm but flexibility required around business needs          Salary: Competitive
