Senior Systems Engineer

Would you like to play a key role in support of defining systems engineering strategies across various military vehicle platforms? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Systems Engineer at our site in Telford.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be working across a range of engineering specialisms and be able to understand low level technical details through liaison with subject matter experts. You will be dealing with key customers regularly and be their point of contact for issue resolution.

This role will provide you with wider opportunities through the BAE Systems business.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Systems Engineer will involve:

Creating and updating of system requirements as required

Defining and managing test and verification strategies

Allocating requirements to sub-system teams to enable test plan creation and execution

Authoring and reviewing detailed verification procedures

Documenting, controlling and ensuring traceability of acceptance evidence

Contributing to test readiness reviews

Authoring and updating engineering management plans (ITEAP, SEMP etc.)

Analysing and reviewing of results against requirements

Managing relationships with key stakeholders internally, within key customers, suppliers and subcontractors

Working safely in accordance with the BAE Systems health & safety policy

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential

Have experience in system requirements verification

Have a strong understanding of systems engineering processes

Be a proficient user of Microsoft Office software

Desirable

Have a strong understanding of the verification methods and techniques used within the UK Ministry of Defence

Have experience of working in the defence industry

Have experience in writing detailed test and verification procedures

Have experience in writing system requirements

Be an experienced user of IBM DOORS

What we're looking for in you:

You must have strong written and verbal communication skills. You must be competent in the use and development of systems engineering methods and tools. It is also important for you to have the ability to interact at all levels with core engineering specialists

Location: Telford

Salary: GBP41,000 +, commensurate on experience
