JOB TITLE: Day Matron
LOCATION: Twyford, Winchester, Hampshire
SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP12 - GBP15 per hour depending on experience.
WORKING HOURS: Part time hours - Hours are likely to be 13:00 - 18:30 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. 14:00 - 18:00 every other Saturday during term time.
THE COMPANY: We are pleased to be working with an co-educational day and boarding school for children from 3 years to 13 years, located in a rural setting three miles from the centre of Winchester, Hampshire
THE ROLE: The position of Day Matron is a varied and rewarding role. Working as an integral part of the team, you will work closely with staff to provide a safe and caring environment.

The Day Matron is a rewarding role, however you need to be the sort of person who can take things in your stride, remain calm and be confident in dealing with children from 3-13 years, as well as teaching staff and children's parents.
THE CANDIDATE: The successful Day Matron will have had previous experience working with children in a caring environment. It would be highly desirable if you had experience within an educational setting, however your experience with children is more important.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support with basic First Aid
- Administration of homely remedies and prescribed medications
- Ensuring staff are kept update regarding further medical attention requirements
- Regular communication with staff and parents
- Checking medical stock to ensure in date and fully stocked
- Signing children in and out for external appointments
- Maintaining accurate records at all times
- First point of communication between parents and children
- Organising lost property at the end of term
- Liaising with teachers regarding potential safeguarding concerns

- Basic knowledge of First Aid - Essential
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and emails - Essential
- Good level of written and spoken English - Essential
- Excellent communication skills - Essential
- Experience using ISAMs - Desirable
- First Aid qualification - Desirable
- Experience working within an educational setting - Desirable
- Driving licence is desirable but the ability to travel to and from the School is essential
