This is a homebased role where you will be covering locations within Scotland with occasional visits to our Banbury offices. The successful Business Development Manager will receive a competitive salary of circa £24,000 per annum.

Location: Nationwide (regional based: Scotland)
The Business Development Manager Role:
- Train and assist customer sales teams in selling PGP product to end users
- Target key end user accounts such as Nursing Homes, Hotels
- Develop channel/end user insight to feedback to the brand
- Generate target leads for new business
- 2-3 calls per day average, to include depot coverage, end user calls, and sales team involvement.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities as our Business Development Manager include:
- Understand PGP product range and be able to sell it to depots using relevant selling tools
- Understand and document the key personnel who have an influence in buying, ranging, selling, promoting
- Understand and document how the Distrib. Sales Reps sell to End Users, & how to influence the process to improve sales
- Accompany Distributor Sales Reps on a sales call at least once per quarter
- Participate in appropriate selling activity (promotion/trade days) run by depots and secure appropriate resources
- Liaise with P&G Professional territory manager so that depot generated leads are followed up
- Develop and train depot sales reps where applicable
- Develop strong relationships with Territory Sales Execs to drive PGP product in and out of Telesales days, understand local contract opportunities and when the contacts are up for review
- Work plans on a local basis to help branches clear old packs and residual stocks
- Delivery of supplier objectives in line with Joint Business Plans
- Customer understanding (e.g. Key Performance Indicators, contacts, corporate & category strategy, pricing & promo strategy, category size, competitive set, competitive Unique Selling Points, supply chain structure etc.)
- Collaborative forecasting
- Joint ownership of account business modelling – building customer plans with analysis of ROI, understanding the customer P&L, tracking of customer budgeted investment, effectively processing invoices
- Monitor and gather information on depot compliance, influence Range, understand competitor intelligence
- Negotiate feature and execution via trade leaflets, Telesales days, sales team presentations, depot advertising space
- Produce effective reports to be distributed both internally / externally
