Location: North of England

Salary Package

You have the right technical abilities. You are up to date with the most recent technology. And just as importantly, you combine real attention to detail with the ability to think logically and solve problems on your feet.          

So, who better than you to help us train and develop the next generation of Property Maintenance Operatives?       

Your challenge? To ensure that the we deliver high quality teaching and learning in all aspects of the property maintenance related theoretical and practical syllabus for both NOCN & BIFM at Level 2.    

Your responsibilities will include:

This is an exciting new opportunity where you will be responsible for developing the course curriculum and resources needed in order to deliver this apprenticeship standard in the workplace. 

We will want you to help promote the activities of the centre including maintaining relationships with external parties, assisting with industry events and keeping abreast of developments in your field of expertise.   You will be responsible for the welfare and safety of apprentices at all times and ensures all necessary administrative work is completed.

You will be delivering the basics of the following Core Competencies/Skills and Knowledge:

  • Health and Safety in the workplace & Organisational safety, policies and procedures
  • Safety compliance with a diverse sector of client groups
  • The importance of working safely at height
  • Repairs to the fabric of a building, for example repairs to walls, doors, doorframes, skirting boards or plaster damage to internal walls
  • Basic maintenance of plumbing and drainage systems, for example repairs to WC systems, leaking taps or water testing and unblocking drains
  • Maintenance of high levels of water hygiene within a building
  • Maintenance of electrical distribution, safe repair of electrical installation to legal requirements, for example replacing damaged sockets, plugs, lighting and fuses.
  • Maintenance of plant, safety systems and equipment
  • Implementation of energy, environment and sustainable practices
  • Maintenance of grounds and external fabrication of a building, such as drainage and guttering

To achieve this, you will be required to:

  • Visit learners in the workplace, tutor and assess them in line with their chosen criterion
  • Maintain standards by delivering the highest quality of training.
  • Liaise with learners, customers, quality assurance and Management
  • Create learner portfolios to agreed internal and external standards
  • Maintain records and systems enabling the provision of timely and accurate information
  • Attend scheduled meetings, ensuring consistent standards of delivery and quality are upheld
  • Attending regular meetings with Management to ensure continued operational effectiveness

Essential Criteria includes:

  • Worked within the relevant sector at Supervisory/Management level
  • Strong administration skills
  • Be able to successfully achieve ongoing security clearances in line with client needs to enable workplace learning to occur
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft package
  • Hold a full valid driving license and/or*access to a form of transport which will allow the post holder to meet the requirements of the job in full. (*This refers to any candidate who has declared that they have a disability which debars them from driving.)
  • A1, D32/33 or TAQA Level 3 Qualified
  • Experience of apprenticeship frameworks including Functional Skills
  • Experience of assessing /coaching within a ‘Work Based’ learning environment
  • Assessment/Assessing/Assessor Qualifications (A1,TAQA, CAVA, ACWE, AVRA, IQAA, A2)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to guide, mentor and inspire learners to achieve completion of their qualifications

Desirable Criteria includes:

  • Teaching Qualification – PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, CertEd, PGCE
  • Experience of delivering all elements of apprenticeship frameworks to Level 3.
  • Experience of Tutoring /coaching at Management Level in a ‘Work Based’ learning environment

Additional information

  • The post holder’s duties will require them to be able to travel across the North of England for meetings/activities which may occasionally extend beyond normal office hours.
  • Applicants will be subject to relevant DBS checks
  • 10-year checkable work history, or full work history age dependant
  • Employment is subject to satisfactory references and DBS check
