Chump Productions Limited requires a Junior Production Manager to join their global television show to set up and manage large teams in different filming locations throughout the UK and abroad. 

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • To ‘project manage’ individual films, from idea stage through to filming on location: - Working with the Producers, planning what is required, scheduling, costing and eventually travelling with the team on location to oversee arrangements from start to finish.
  • Responsible for production finance for individual films, reporting into the Production Executive and Head of Production. This includes building the Cost Manager for each film, forecasting costs, raising and/or approving quotes/purchase orders/invoices and reporting against budget, and flagging any cost anomalies to the PE/HoP ahead of time.
  • Ensure all crew and equipment is sourced at the best price for each job and will already have established good working relationships with equipment suppliers in the industry
  • Source and liaise with fixers abroad, where there may be cultural or political sensitivities to navigate.
  • Ensure that all films follow a systematic management process which includes insurance, release forms, crew bookings and negotiations, carnet, booking specialist filming equipment including the use of aerials, Russian arms, tracking cars, permissions.
  • Work with the studio production team setting up studio recordings; booking crew; negotiating rates; liaising with audience services; assisting scheduling studio days; booking equipment; specialist service providers; props etc..  Candidate will also attend studio shoots and work on-site.
  • Oversee and manage production coordinator(s) and secretaries; generating and distributing call sheets
  • Maintain an overview of Directors and Producers requests and their priorities across the series to ensure the smooth running of all films in production
  • Candidate must be familiar with 4k, and must maintain data wrangling and post production procedures to ensure safety of rushes

As a Junior Production Manager, you must have/be:

  • proven production experience on a global production and be a team player who is able to multi-task and perform effectively to an ever-changing schedule in high pressure environment.
  • comfortable working long hours in the office and on location if necessary, sometimes at night.  Must be comfortable working in remote and sometimes strange environments and be able to think on their feet.
  • Hold a full Driving Licence for at least 5 years
  • Experience driving long distances in UK and abroad
  • Knowledge of UK insurance guidelines specifically in relation to driving in foreign countries
  • Knowledge of public liability insurance guidelines when hiring specialists (technicians, stunt men, etc.)
  • Full working knowledge of Excel; specifically the use of Cost Manager spreadsheets
  • Experience filming abroad in different cultures
  • Experience working with foreign fixers
  • Experience handling and reconciling large sums of money, particularly foreign currency
  • Experience and some knowledge of specialist filming equipment such as Russian Arm, Drones, Mini cameras, etc.
  • Studio recording experience
  • Good working relationships with filming equipment companies in the industry
  • Knowledge of 4k, and post-production procedures including data management / drives / camera cards etc.
  • Knowledge of Mac and PC – ideally worked on both
