I am recruiting on behalf of a processing plant, operating technically complex and fast moving dry powder processing, comprising bulking, milling, screening and crushing.
There is an on-site electrical engineer who will work in partnership with this active hands-on mechanical role.
For this role you will ideally hold an apprenticeship or tool making background in mechanical engineering, as you will be required to refurbish & repair mechanical equipment where possible rather than simply replace it.
Welding qualifications would be required in MIG TIG and ARC as fabrication of plant will be required. A counterbalance forklift licence would be advantageous but training could be provided.
You will be working on planned preventative maintenance, and having worked in a production environment will be reactive to breakdowns, understanding that production losses need to be minimised.
In addition to hands-on engineering support you will also:
Be responsible for managing critical spares stock, co-ordinating ordering to support scheduled activities.
Be required to deal with third party contractors to ensure planned and reactive maintenance is undertaken as scheduled.
Maintaining operational logs to an ISO standard.
The role is working day Monday to Friday 0800 - 1700 with tea breaks and a lunch break. Pay is monthly and starts at GBP32500 rising to GBP33990 after a 6 month probation.
The company is a small business that places great emphasis on looking after their staff. The environment is very dirty but showers are available on site and all uniform is provided free of charge, as is the tea and coffee.
