Clerical Assistant
Braintree Music School, Great Bradfords Junior School, Braintree
GBP8.92 per hour
5 hours per week, 30 weeks per year during term time
Saturdays, 8.30am - 1.30pm
Permanent Contract commencing asap
Music School Clerical Assistants are responsible for supporting the Music School Teacher-in-Charge with effective administration and day-to-day coordination of community music schools run by Essex Music Services/Essex Music Education Hub.
Role specific accountabilities
- To maintain personal contact and emergency contact details of students on the Music School's roll.
- To collect the appropriate termly fee from parents and to maintain records of fees collected and outstanding.
- To complete the monthly payroll for the Teacher-in-Charge and send to the Music Service Data, Finance & Administration Finance Lead Officer
- To act as a first point of contact for students, parents and tutors at the Music School during Music School hours, answering minor queries, such as those relating to timetables, rooms, fees etc.
- To distribute and collect tutors' weekly registers.
- To complete termly Statistical Analysis on behalf of Music School and assist TICs with the annual data collection
- To assist with any concerts or external performances
- To undertake First Aid training and Level 2 Safeguarding Training at least once every two years.
- To assist the TIC with pastoral duties to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
- To carry out any other duties commensurate with the post, as and when requested by the Music School Teacher in Charge.
Knowledge, skills and experience
Education/Qualifications
Possesses a good standard of general education, especially Maths and English.
Experience and Competencies
- Has experience of general office procedures and administration.
- Good computer literacy with a willingness to attend training if needed.
- Experience in an education setting, working with both children and parents/carers.
- Focused on offering quality customer service.
- Used to working as part of a team.
- Highly organised, methodical and efficient.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
