Machine Design Engineer

Our leading client is looking for Machine Design Engineer based at Newcastle.

This will be a great opportunity for a talented Engineer to join a growing organisation who operates on a Global scale. The role will involve completing mechanical designs to deliver company's electrical machines, including high speed motors and generators.

At least 2:2 in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and/or electrical machinery related discipline at bachelors level.
Good practical industrial experience applying mechanical design principles to rotating machines.
A competent user of CAD for mechanical modelling and drawings.
Good knowledge of Creo / Pro Engineer CAD.
Competent user of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Post graduate qualification in mechanical engineering and/or electrical machinery related discipline.
Practical industrial experience in high speed rotating machinery
Ideally electrical machine design experience.
CFD (ANSYS CFX or equivalent) knowledge would be an advantage.
Knowledge of ANSYS APDL or similar macro-based FEA.
User of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for mechanical design.
Advanced user of Microsoft Excel for modelling and analysis.
Motivated and organised individual who is at ease liaising with suppliers and other internal functions within the company.
Good communication and presentation skills, written and oral.
Sociable and dependable.
