Teacher of BTEC Public Services

Part time, 0.467 fte (9 hours direct teaching per week plus 1.5 hours of remission time for internal verification)

Temporary to 31st August 2018

£22,937 - £38,364 per annum pro rata (Starting salary dependent on experience)

To start Autumn Term 2017

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and successful teacher to deliver units from BTEC Public Services and take the role of internal verifier for the department. With experience of delivering good and outstanding lessons, you will be able to motivate and inspire students to reach their potential and make good progress. You will be expected to demonstrate your commitment to excellence and inclusion at all times, ensuring a high quality experience for students.

You will be a responsible for delivering BTEC courses to students by providing excellent learning opportunities and effective and enthusiastic teaching. In addition, you will be involved in curriculum planning and development, and support the Head of BTEC in ensuring continuous quality improvement within the subject. Typical units we would expect you to deliver are those relating to Government Policies, Leadership and Teamwork, Citizenship and Diversity, Security and Adventurous Activities

With a full teaching qualification and expertise in this curriculum area, you will have a passion for the subject, proven success of delivery on Level 3 programmes and experience of internal verification in Public Services. You will also have a positive approach to continued improvement, teamwork and sharing of good practice.
