If you are diligent, good at relationship building and have excellent communication skills, then why not come along to Shelter's Offender Resettlement Open Day at HMP Preston this October. This is a unique opportunity to find out more about Shelter and the work they do, as well as being able to have a chat with some of their resettlement team and even start your application process. Shelter are currently recruiting for exceptional candidates to join their Rehabilitation teams at a number of different establishments in the North West of England. Previous experience of housing would be beneficial (although not essential for all vacancies). They currently have a wide range of opportunities on offer, including: Triage WorkerHMP Resettlement Triage Workers will be required to deliver a professional, impartial pragmatic and outcome focussed Resettlement Service to offenders within all relevant prisons. This will be undertaken on site or via outreach to additional HMP locations within the CPA. Resettlement Triage Workers will contribute to HMP Induction programme, completing BCST 2's, working with Peers to identify prisoner needs, delivering immediate one off interventions and updating resettlement plans, as applicable. HMP Resettlement WorkerResettlement Workers will work with any prisoner with an identified need upon entry into custody or the last 12 weeks of their sentence. Formatting detailed resettlement plans considering all areas of need to support transition into custody or preparation for release. Delivering accommodation and FBD interventions, whilst striving to find or keep a home. RWs will work alongside other HMP partner agencies to manage referrals to appropriate providers, co-ordinating employment and "other pathway" interventions and work alongside Prisoner Peer advisers to empower and support. Community Resettlement WorkerCommunity Resettlement Workers will be required to deliver a professional, impartial pragmatic and outcome focussed Resettlement Service to referred offenders throughout the whole of Lancashire and the South of Cumbria. Delivering interventions in accommodation, and finance, benefit and debt. Working closely with Shelter Mentoring service and the prison resettlement team and CRC to ensure that all identified needs are met appropriately and effectively. Mentoring OfficerThe role of the Mentoring Officer is to provide additional support to Referred Offenders aligned with custodial Resettlement, through the gate and community integration services. Mentoring Officers will work closely with CRC Responsible Officers and wider supply chain and partners, where appropriate. You will be involved in the continual development and drive mentoring services. AdministratorThe Administrator will play a key role in coordinating this service and will be expected to deal with initial enquiries coming into the service from the CRC/ prison directing to the appropriate individual. The administrator will have responsibility for processing sensitive and confidential data on offenders and maintaining records as appropriate on the OASYS/ CRC and Shelter case management systems.
