Digital Designer - 2 year Fixed Term Contract

Salary: GBP37,395 - GBP45,000 + Excellent Benefits

We have an exciting Fixed Term Contract opportunity for a Digital Designer to join Group Technology & Change in Edinburgh. The role will deliver new business capabilities to support the aspirations of Royal London's Intermediary Division.

Working closely with UX and Development teams, the successful candidate will support the development and delivery of key enhancements to Royal London's online service provision, including responsive websites, mobile/tablet apps and microsites through the support of content marketing campaigns and animations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist in defining elements of layout and design patterns for online services, including responsive design from initial concept through to final execution
  • Support the translation of concepts in to wireframes and mockups that lead to intuitive user experience for a range of devices
  • Ensure design continuity across new services and platforms delivered, engaging closely with Customer Journey teams at all stages of the process
  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate designs
  • Working closely with UX and Development teams to oversee design, development and implementation of engaging content and services for online channels
  • Assist in the development and evolution of digital brand guidelines as a subset of overarching group brand guidelines

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

Creative/Technical Skills:

  • Excellent experience within Web and Multimedia design, with strong creativity and an ability to work on designs from scratch
  • An in-depth understanding of UX (usability and customer journey)
  • Previous experience in large scale digital transformations
  • Up to date understanding of HTML and CSS to understand the feasibility of designs in development
  • Excellent multimedia production skills eg motion graphics/video
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects
  • Extensive experience in design best practices to design solutions and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design
  • Experience of working within an Agile environment

Personal Skills:

  • Strong presentation skills and comfortable presenting to Senior Management teams
  • Comfortable challenging opinions where necessary to ensure highest quality outputs
  • Pro-active with a drive to contribute to business success
  • Ability to respond quickly to design requirements
