LOCATION: Toulous, France (open to relocation from anywhere in the UK, targetting but not limited to Edinburgh, London and Manchester)
JOB TITLE: Website and Newsletter Editor / Journalist
SALARY & BENEFITS: Up to GBP25,000 per annum (approx EUR 27,000) depending on experience
WORKING HOURS: 39 hours per week, Monday - Friday
THE COMPANY: Our client is a fast-growing global agribusiness media and information company. It operates across the entire agricultural value chain, from inputs through farming to outputs, manufacturing, trade, commodities and more. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Website and Newsletter Editor / Journalist to join their team to work on their titles for the animal nutrition and food industries.
THE ROLE: This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person. You will identify and write stories for Feedinfo News Service and FLEXNEWS as well as overseeing daily news operations of the editorial news room in Toulouse. You will oversees development of content on FLEXNEWS and raises brand awareness..
Key responsibilities for the Website and Newsletter Editor / Journalist role includes:-
Oversees publication of articles and their inclusion into daily newsletters, making sure deadlines are met and content delivers to user requirements
Works with the researcher in selecting, verifying and treating relevant information from other sources; responding effectively to breaking news; choosing and prioritising content for the daily newsletters
Seeks solutions to tailor mainstream/niche content and add value for readers
Optimises presentation and distribution of stories, using target alerts, social media, managing content on new site
Identifies and plans content with the other editors, as well as writing and editing short news stories
Helps with conferences, transcripts and webcast coverage
Works on news leads, contacting companies to obtain comment/reaction
THE CANDIDATE: The successful applicant for the Website and Newsletter Editor / Journalist role will need to work accurately and to tight deadlines. You will need to be able to influence and persuade others and have excellent communication skills. This role is open to candidates anywhere within the UK, ranging from (but not limited to) London, to Manchester to Edinburgh, who are prepared to be office-based in Toulouse.
Key skills and experience for the Website and Newsletter Editor / Journalist role:-
Experience in writing for and/or editing newsletters and/or websites, particularly for a technically-focused audience
Able to deal with technology and various IT packages and to adopt and adapt to new technology
Knowledge of the food and/or animal feed/feed additives industries would be ideal, but an enthusiasm for the sectors and being prepared to learn about them in-depth is important.
Please note, although this is advertised in the London, Manchester and Edinburgh areas, all candidates will be considered if they are willing to relocate to Toulouse.
