Small local veterinary diagnostics laboratory seeks new member of staff to join our scientific team.
The role of a Microbiologist
The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of microbiological culture and identification techniques. The major bulk of the analysis is from veterinary samples, but environmental and water micro biology is also required. Other areas of the role include some dissection and parasitology work. Staff must be willing to be trained across many disciplines to help out in other areas of the laboratory during vacations or sickness.
The role of a Lab Technician
The role will be multi-disciplinary and a working knowledge of molecular biology, microbiological culture, serology, parasitology or microscopy would be very advantageous and there will be some on the job training.Some experience of basic laboratory techniques such as Pipetting is essential.
The laboratory is located rurally with no close access to public transport so a full driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.
