Management Accountant

This is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing innovation management consultancy specialising in the commercialisation of science, engineering and technology. An experienced accountant is sought to manage multiple company accounts within the group.

This role is ideal for a commercially minded, astute accountant with strong ambitions to be part of a growing group of companies. The role is both hands on and strategic.

Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for but not limited to the hands on delivery of:
- Credit control
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Management accounts
- Tax/VAT returns
- Maintenance of asset registers
- Producing journals
- Accruals and prepayments
- Cash flow
- Payroll and pensions
- Financial reporting (including provision of information for audit)

The role will also contribute to the delivery of grant funded project claims (particularly EU/ERDF projects), including:
- Management of project finances (to ERDF guidance and EU procurement rules)
- Production of financial claims
- Keeping abreast of relevant funding body financial rules and regulations

Desirable qualifications and competencies:
- Qualified or part qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA)
- Experience with using Sage 50 Accounts
- Strong IT skills, particularly MS Excel
- Excellent time management and organisation skills
- Experience of working on EU / publicly funded projects
