Business Development Manager

Home-Start is a federated network of local organisations which provide community based support for families and children.  Over the past four decades Home-Start has supported over a million children and has become one of the leading family support charities across the UK.

A key part of our new strategic plan is to support local Home-Starts to win early years volunteer led family support contracts and we are now seeking a Business Development Manager to lead on this work.

Business Development Manager
Salary: £40,000 per annum
36 hours per week
Fixed term post to 31st December 2018
Based in Leicester or home-based

The successful candidate will be a self-starting professional with the ability to build partnerships with commissioners and partners in the early years’ community.  The ability to develop pilot projects to be market ready, together with research skills in order to map funding opportunities, both locally and regionally, are key to this role.

You will use your presentation and communication skills to develop innovative and creative pitches and proposals as a central web base for local Home-Starts enabling them to prepare for contract negotiations and successfully secure contracts.

You will also be financially literate with an acute understanding of pricing models and the ability to produce calculations on a sliding scale.

A commitment to working to improve the lives of children, families and volunteers is also key and will be demonstrated by an ability to communicate with passion and commitment to a range of audiences.

This post can be based at our Home-Start UK office in Leicester or home-based however the post holder will be expected to travel extensively across the UK and regularly attend the Home-Start office in Leicester.
