Electronic Design Engineer, Nottingham, 35,000-45,000
With some fantastic new projects on the horizon and due to a retirement in December 2016, I am working with a global colossus of a company that design and manufacture equipment for hazardous areas and safety solutions. They are looking to swiftly replace the hole left for an Electronic Design Engineer which will provide a much better balance to the team going forward.
Currently the Electronic (and software) design are provided by an outside consultancy. It is planned that the electronics engineer will allow the team to become fully capable of the future hardware design requirement/s even if the external consultancy is not initially replaced.
Your role will encompass the leadership of the product life cycle from start to finish including the circuit design right the way through to approvals. You will also provide technical and application support to your colleagues, distributors and customers whilst also leading the approvals of the companys products.
You will have the chance to become the main provider of electronic design services in the short and medium-term future establishing in-house software based circuit design and hardware development and testing facilities. You will be given the opportunity to build up skills and knowledge of standards such as IEC61610 and IEC 61508.
The company provide a fantastic and rare route of progression with opportunities to move in to more senior roles or even management roles depending on what you want. So you will not stagnate within this company, as a guarantee.
Key Skills
-Electronic Design both Digital and Analogue circuits
-PCB Layout in Altium
-Microcontroller based circuits
-Knowledge of/Skills in C programming (MISRA-C) would be advantageous
-Strong communication skills for customer, colleague and distributor interfacing
-Any knowledge of ATEX, IECEx, cCSAus hazardous area approvals and Ex design is beneficial
Salary/Benefits
-35,000-45,000
