An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Network Engineer, to join a fast growing IT company, delivering internet and connectivity services to its customers. The successful Network Engineer will work full time, earning a salary of between £45,000 and £55,000 depending on experience, plus bonus and excellent benefits.
This company works with high profile clients designing, building and supporting high performance network inrastructure. As a Network Engineer you will enjoy being an integral part of large complex projects and evolving technologies, ranging from Network/Applications Management and development to large scale WAN solution deployments. Your core duties will include, but not be limited to:

As a Network Engineer you will enjoy being an integral part of large complex projects and evolving technologies, ranging from Network/Applications Management and development to large scale WAN solution deployments. Your core duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Engaging with customers and colleagues to solve technical issues.
- Designing/building network solutions based on customers’ requirements.
- Providing outstanding customer service.
- Working off-site on occasions, for example installation of equipment in a data centres, network maintenance/upgrades, customer premises installations.
- Providing quick, accurate and professional responses to customer support queries/tickets by both telephone and email ticket system
- Configuration of core elements of network and customer premises equipment
- Pre-sales and design of network/systems infrastructure for new clients
- Implementing new customer solutions
- Maintenance and upgrades of existing customer network / systems
- Involvement with development of internal core network
- Occasional out of hours on-call assistance
- Knowledge of products / services and technologies, providing technical consultancy
- A university degree level in Internet Technologies or another relevant discipline would be an advantage, as would greater levels of experience
- Proven track record in Networking:
- Switching – Spanning tree, VLANs, stacks
- Routing – IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS/VPLS, QoS, IPv6, L2TP, PPP, VPM/IPSEC
- Qualifications or demonstrable CCIP equivalent level on Cisco is essential
- Qualifications or relevant experience on Juniper/Fortinet/Extreme/Brocade/Huawei platforms would be advantageous
- Systems knowledge in:
- Linux/BSD system Administration
- Windows Server Administration
- VMWare technologies
