The Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership organisation solely for GPs in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1952, it has over 52,000 members who are committed to improving patient care, developing their own skills and promoting general practice as a discipline. General practice is the largest branch of the medical profession. It provides some 1 million consultations for patients in the UK every working day and deals with 86% of the health problems experienced by the UK population.

RCGP Wales requires an Events Administrator to assist with the busy educational events programme aimed principally at GPs and those training to be GPs. In this varied and busy post, you will take responsibility for identifying educational courses as well as administrative activities related to a number of these courses. This encompasses everything from finding a venue, publicising the course and overseeing the costs, to attending on the day and communicating with attendees.  You will need to develop a good working relationship with the RCGP Wales Programme & Events Officer as your line manager, the Faculty Support Manager, the Faculty Support Officers and the Education Leads.

You will have relevant administrative experience, preferably of running courses or events, and be fully competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, the ability to manage competing priorities and experience of dealing with basic finances is desirable.

Although based in Cardiff, courses are held in venues throughout Wales so the successful applicant must have access to their own transport and a flexible approach regarding working hours. A full driving licence and access to a car is essential to be able to attend meetings within the region and nationally, some of which will be held in the evening.  A flexi-time system is in operation.

The successful candidate will share our corporate values.

In return, the College offers excellent terms and conditions.
