We are recruiting for a Senior Residential Child Care Worker to work within a small residential home based in Kettering for Children and Young People. You will provide a personalised provision for children with learning disabilities and complex support needs, including: Autism, Epilepsy, mild to moderate Learning Disabilities and complex behavioural needs; all within a homely environment.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with managerial duties in the absence of the Registered Manager and Team Leader
- To lead shifts when on duty
- Writing review reports and other reports as necessary
- Being involved in review meetings concerning Children and Young People
- Domestic duties (washing, cleaning, cooking etc.)
- Work closely and efficiently with other professionals. For example, GPs, Consultants, Social Workers
- Deliver high standards of care, protection and support to children and young people. This includes supporting children with learning disabilities and related complex needs by facilitating their physical, psychological, emotional and recreational development.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Residential experience
- Senior experience is desirable, however a strong candidate with experience in the sector and a passion to progress further in their career may be considered.
- Full UK Driving License
- Experience in confidently dealing with challenging behaviour
- A Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or Children & Young People`s Workforce
- Key worker experience
A pay rate of £9.50 p/h will be offered with an £1.50ph enhancement for working between 6pm - 9.30pm week days and all day weekends.You will be working 35 hours per week on a shift pattern.
You must be able to work the following; Lates - 2.30pm - 9.30pm shifts or Long Days - 7.30am - 9.30pm. You will work a long day every other weekend; 1st - Sat, 2nd; off, 3rd; Sun, 4th; off.
