Programme Area Manager

Programme Area Manager. Maths and English Cross College. Part Time 25.9 hours per week. Permanent.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person to join the English and Maths team.  You will drive forward the Programme Area, introduce visionary and innovative ways of working, and be creative and dynamic.  You will have substantial knowledge of the sector with a specialist interest in leading maths and English cross-college.

The post requires leadership of a large team of lecturers and programme leads, together with a small teaching commitment.  You will need to be passionate about teaching and learning with a strong track record and have experience of effective performance management and quality improvement.  You will possess excellent leadership and communication skills and be able to be responsive, yet calm in a challenging educational environment.  You must demonstrate the ability to motivate and inspire the team to deliver outstanding results and plan the curriculum effectively to ensure challenging targets are achieved.  You will take lead management responsibility for GCSE English and will also have knowledge and experience of Functional Skills.  You will act as the main link between the English and Maths department and 2 vocational areas to ensure learners are correctly enrolled and in monitoring attendance and progress. 

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, hold a full teaching qualification, demonstrate a good understanding of quality assurance and data management and will have a background and experience of working in the Maths and English field. As an outstanding teacher you will also have strong leadership skills and experience of managing people.  The ability to manage data systems and processes are also essential for this post.
