Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer
Department / Function: Technology ~ Technology
Location: West London (Feltham)
Hours: Full time. Mon-Fri
Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 plus bonus and benefits

Based out of our headquarters in West London, We is seeking a Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer to work within our data team which supports transaction processing and reporting systems.

The role requires a talented PL/SQL developer to work in a small development team to provide analysis, design, development and support in order to create and maintain application development projects. The software platforms in use are Oracle RDBMS, Oracle Enterprise Linux and Cognos.

The Corporate IT department is responsible for managing the operations of all corporate and production IT and Business Intelligence system platforms and infrastructure. The department of 25 people comprises an Oracle Data group and infrastructure, service desk and network support teams.

Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake design, development and unit test activities
* Provide estimates for proposed development and necessary technical documentation to cover these activities.
* To develop software in accordance with quality, coding and installation standards
* Deliver tasks in accordance with estimated and agreed timelines and effort
* Investigate assigned reported errors, identify cause and resolve problem
* Make required changes or data fixes in accordance with internal procedures
* Produce and/or update detailed design specifications
* Produce test specifications to demonstrate that re-configured elements meet the requirement.
* Execute unit tests and document outcomes
* Provide regular progress reports to line management in accordance with agreed procedures

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience as an Oracle SQL, PL/SQL Developer
* Familiar with UNIX or Linux operating systems
* Unix or Linux shell scripting experience
* Performance Tuning
* Familiar with data warehouse design principles and best practices for maintaining dimension and fact tables
* Design ETL Processes for Oracle databases
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience
* Excellent communication and cross-team coordination skills. Solid oral, written, and presentation as well as strong interpersonal skills are required.
* Experience of other database technologies, for example SQL Server, would be a bonus.
